bq.About 45 percent of China’s Internet cafes were closed after a fire last June in the capital left 24 dead, sources from the Ministry of Culture were quoted as saying by state media. Xinhua news agency reported that of the estimated 200,000 Internet cafes at the height of the nationwide boom, only 90,000 were licensed.
