And I noticed last week that Library Journal maintains a list of The Books Most Borrowed in U.S. Libraries. But don’t just rely on national lists. Our circulation system offers a report called a “Holds Purchase Alert” that lets us see what our patrons are reserving because we don’t have enough copies to meet the immediate needs. If your does the same or something similar, you really should take advantage of that fact. Meeting the needs of library users is what we are supposed to be all about.
