On the BBC

bq.But no one does Internet radio better than the grande dame of broadcast radio itself: the British Broadcasting Corp. At the BBC radio site, http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio , you’ll find live broadcasts of the network’s hallowed World Service – in 43 languages – that debuted in 1932 and set the standard for international radio. – David Colker
bq.The BBC has been lambasted by classical music labels for making all nine of Beethoven’s symphonies available for free download over the Internet. This week the BBC will announce there have been more than a million downloads of the symphonies during the month-long scheme. But the initiative has infuriated the bosses of leading classical record companies who argue the offer undermines the value of music and that any further offers would be unfair competition. – Anthony Barnes
bq.’The Mighty Boosh’ series will be broadcast online from July 19, a week ahead of its television transmission on July 26. All episodes will be available to view for up to seven days after the final programme of the series transmits on BBC Three. Jana Bennett, the BBC’s director of television, said: “The broadband premiere of ‘The Mighty Boosh’ is a significant step forward in offering our audiences even greater value in a changing television world.” – Julia Pearlman I think it is fair to say that the BBC has some idea of what is going on.

Potter Countdown Begins

But don’t ask me what happens, because we are bound not to violate the NDA. Update: Terry Bain thinks the photo I linked to above looks like it’s in a bookstore so I added a few more photographs and created a set. I will keep adding to it as the week goes on.
